Karnataka govt launches Janasevaka scheme to provide Govt services at Home Delivery
The Karnataka government launched the Janasevaka scheme in certain municipal corporation wards to provide home delivery of various government services like ration cards, senior citizen identity and health cards.
The Scheme was launched by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, and the scheme will contain 53 services from 11 departments.
The beneficiary will have to place the request for the service through the website or Phone. Jan Sevak or a delivery executive will be assigned to deliver the service to the citizens
The main objective of the scheme is to ensure on-time delivery of government services and make the lives of the citizens of Karnataka Easy.

Cabinet approves amendment to bring cooperative banks under regulatory control of RBI
The Union Cabinet approved amendments to the Banking Regulation Act to bring cooperative banks under the regulatory mechanism of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The government has taken this move in the wake of the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) Bank crisis.
Maharashtra tops list of States hit by global medical data leak
Greenbone Sustainable Resilience, a German cybersecurity firm, has published a report on medical data leak, Maharashtra topped among the Indian states which has been hit by global medical data leak.
Medical details of over 120 million Indian patients have been leaked and made freely available on the Internet.
Maharashtra at the top of the States affected by the leak, followed by Karnataka.
Supreme Court directs states to issue notification for establishing ‘Gram Nyayalayas’
The Supreme Court has directed the states to establish Gram Nyayalayas within four Weeks. Gram Nyayalayas are mobile village courts established under Gram Nyayalayas Act,2008.
The Gram Nyayalayas should be established for every Panchayat at the intermediate level or a group of contiguous Panchayats at intermediate level in a district.
A bench headed by Justice N V Ramana also took into account the fact that several states have issued notifications for establishing Gram Nyayalayas but all of them were not functioning except in Kerala, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
MSME implemented a new scheme named SFURTI
Ministry of MSME is implementing a ‘Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries’ (SFURTI) Scheme under which financial support is being provided for setting up of traditional industries clusters viz. Khadi, Coir & Village industries clusters.
Its aim is to develop clusters of traditional industries in the country over a period of five years, to make sustainable development, employment and strengthen governance systems for traditional rural industries.
RBI hikes insurance cover on bank deposits to Rs 5 lakh
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has increased the Insurance cover on bank deposits to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 1 lakh.
Deposit insurance was static at Rs 1 lakh since 1993. The cover is provided by the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the RBI.
The DICGC does not directly charge any premium from the depositor on this insurance. So Now Banks will pay a premium of 12 paise against 10 paise per Rs 100 deposit.
The deposit insurance scheme covers all banks operating in India, including the private sector, cooperative and even branches of foreign banks.

Reliance General launches a comprehensive health insurance plan “Infinity”
Reliance General Insurance has launched a comprehensive health insurance plan called Reliance Health Infinity.
The product comes with 90 days pre and 180 days post hospitalization cover as well as a wide range of sum insured from Rs 3 lakh to 1 crore.
In addition to that if an insured person suffers an illness or injury which requires medical treatment – the cost of all-day care procedures, domiciliary hospitalization, emergency transportation will all be covered.
Greta Thunberg nominated for 2020 Nobel Peace Prize
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has been nominated for the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize.
Two lawmakers in Sweden nominated the teenager for the award saying she has worked hard to make politicians open their eyes to the climate crisis.
Thunberg, who has encouraged students to skip school to attend rallies for the environment, has spoken out on the world stage about climate change.
Thunberg was among four people last year to win the Right Livelihood Award and was also named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.
