We are excited to promote the Aquí Nos Cuidamos Toolkit (#AquiNosCuidamosPR), a free informational and educational resource from our partners at Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR). Dr. Mónica Feliú-Mójer, Director of Communications for CienciaPR and Director of Diversity and Communication Training at iBiology, has been doing extraordinary work leading this effort.
Recognizing the need for reliable and accurate scientific information surrounding COVID-19, #AquiNosCuidamosPR empowers vulnerable and marginalized communities in Puerto Rico to keep themselves healthy and safe during the pandemic. The Toolkit consists of infographics, videos, audio clips, and imagery, and other informational resources that can be shared through broadcast outlets, social media, and messaging platforms. These resources were developed by scientists and experts in public health and communication, working together with community leaders and local non-profit organizations to maximize dissemination and impact.
The initiative consists of four campaigns focused on different themes, including “Distancia física, no social,” which addresses strategies for minimizing risk of infection. Additional themes will include vaccines, mental health and emotional wellbeing, and the role of science in future emergencies.
