IndiGo is the first airline in Asia to use the GAGAN navigation system to land its aircraft. 

Highlights:

  • This is a tremendous step forward for Indian Civil Aviation and a definite step toward Aatmanirbhar Bharat. India joins the United States and Japan as the third country to have its own SBAS system.

  • Using GPS-aided geo-augmented navigation (GAGAN), which was jointly developed by the Centre-run Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Indian Space Research Organisation, the flight arrived at the Kishangarh airport in Rajasthan on Wednesday morning (April 27).
